A 30,000 seat college football stadium is used 20 times for games, concerts, and graduation cerimonies. Each event average 4 hours, and assume the stadium is full for each event. The stadium is is available for 365 days a year from 6am to midnight. Find the stadium seat utilization. Can you tink of one or two other assets that have such a low resource utilization?

    Total number of hours = 365 * 18

    = 6570 hours

    Total number of hours for each available seats = 6570 * 30000

    = 197100000 hours

    Total number of hours of the stadium usage = 4 * 18

    = 72 hours

    Total number of hours for the seats being used = 72 * 30000

    = 2160000 hours

    Utilization Rate = Total number of hours of usage / Total available hours

    = 2160000/197100000 = 0.011

    = 1.1%
