A national health care plan would also control the wildly escalating cost of prescription drugs. This would particularly benefit the elderly who mostly live on fixed income. Even though the cost of their drugs keeps on going up, their incomes stay the same. How can they be expected to afford the drugs they need? The sad truth is that many people have to make a choice between buying groceries and buying medicine. Put yourself in their position. Which would you choose?
