A company is bidding on two projects, A and B. The probability that the company wins project A is 0.70 and the probability that the company wins project B is 0.38. Winning project A and winning project B are independent events. What is the probability that the company does not win either project?

    For computing the probability of not win either project first we have to calculate the probability of wining of project A or project B which is shown below:

    P (A or B) = P (A) + P (B) - P (A & B)

    = 0.70 + 0.38 - 0.70 * 0.38

    = 1.08 - 0.266

    = 0.814

    P (neither) = 1 - P (A or B)

    = 1 - 0.814

    = 0.186

    We simply applied the above formula so that the probability of the company that it does not win either project comes
