    Let us assume Erin investment be X

    We know that Erin would contributed 1 : 4 investment in partners capital

    So, the equation would be

    1 : 4 * ($140,000 + $40,000 + X) = X

    1 : 4 * ($180,000 + X) = X

    $45,000 + 1 : 4X = X

    So, $45,000 = 3 : 4X

    So, X = $45,000 * 4 : 3

    = $60,000
