You are dealt two cards successively (without replacement) from a shuffled deck of 52 playing cards. Find the probability that the first card is a King and the second card is a queen. Express your answer as a simplified fraction.

    = (1/13) * (4/51) = 4/663

    Explanation:

    We have 4 Kings in the 52 cards. They are Hearts, Spades, Clubs and Diamonds.

    Probability of selecting a king is 4/52.

    =4/52 = 1/13

    To select queen wihout replacement, we also have 4 queens as well (i. e Diamonds, Spades, Clubs and Hearts)

    We have 4 chances of selecting queen in 51.

    The probability of getting both the King and the Queen is:

    = (1/13) * (4/51) = 4/663
