    The changes in the dependent variable is 'dependent' on the changes in the independent variable. There can be more than one independent variable. The effects of various independent variables on the dependent variable is observed or recorded by the research.

    Independent variable is also known as explanatory variable. As the researcher changes the independent variable, then the effect on dependent variable is recorded by the researcher. On the basis these results, he will be able to prepare a precised report.

    Independent and dependent variables are mostly used in a research study.
