Coaching and mentoring someone is a form of direct, intense and detailed training. By working one on one or in a small group setting with someone who does the job you are learning to do as well they will have a focused and detailed training to get you up to speed. By being mentored or coached, you are able to directly ask your trainer what you need to be doing at various steps in learning the job but they expect you to learn it, study it, and do it so tha tthey can get back to their required work as well.
