When a company sells merchandise at F. O. B. place of shipment, it means that the title of the goods is passed to the buyer as soon as the goods leave the seller's warehouse or delivery dock.

Once the title of the goods has been passed to the buyer, he is the sole responsible for any losses that can occur. The buyer must pay for the shipping costs and insurance of the goods.
