Ms. Boatler decides to do forecasting and predicts that if she utilizes short-term financing instead, she will pay 6.75 percent interest in the first year and 11.55 percent interest in the second year. Assume interest is paid in full at the end of each year.

a. Determine the total two-year interest cost under each plan.

b. Which plan is less costly?

    Total interest cost Plan 1 = 2 * 0.10 * $1,030,000 = $206,000

    Under plan 2 = 0.0675 * $1,030,000 + 0.1155 * $1,030,000 = $69525+$118965 = $188,490

    Plan 2 is less costly.
