"Food Service" (or "Food Service") it's an all-encompassing term regarding food cooked and delivered by strangers. For example, it includes hotels. This is usually an American term, although it is now being embraced by many English-speaking countries.

In Great britain, the common word was 'catering,' on the continent of 'HoReCa' (Hotels, Restaurants, Catering) and on the US Federal Government, 'Meals Away From Home'-which is misleading in that it includes take-out and delivery choices.

"Foodservice" is a type of "Hospitality" but also covers hotels, conference facilities, concerts and other wide venues.

The food service sector includes all the events, programs and company roles involved in cooking and delivering food to people who eat away from family and friends.

This covers all sorts of restaurants, from casual dining to fast food.
