The consumer’s power to control what is produced is called consumer sovereignty. Consumer sovereignty is when the wants and needs of the consumer control the outputs of producers. In other words, producers and company’s make sure they are only putting items into the market that they know their consumers wants. If they don’t think they want them, then they will make sure to not produce them in the event they do not sell.
