Samia has decided that with the two hours in between classes she can do one of 3 things. she has ranked her choices, from highest to lowest as, (1) chat with her friends, (2) study economics or (3) take a nap. the opportunity cost of chatting with her friends is zero since she does not pay her friends to talk to her. the value of chatting with her friends. the value of studying economics, the next best use of time. the combined value of studying economics and taking a nap.

    This is very true because the choice of having to do what she have decided to do in the scale of preference is the alternative she forgoes for what she is doing. So the opportunity cost of deciding to chat with her friends is the importance of choosing to studying​ economics, while if she decides to study the opportunity cost would be the chatting that she didn't do.
