A career in health and fitness needs more than just knowledge on how the body works and what are the best methods of improving the bodies fitness. It also involves other disciplines in order to make that knowledge useful. For example, let's look at teaching, counseling, business, and marketing. Teaching - You're not going to be following your patients or clients around every day, all day. So you're going to have to be able to teach them on what to do or what to avoid to improve their situation or maintain any improvements they've made. Counseling - You need to be able to counsel a client on their situation so that they both understand what needs to be done and are not offended. So this is a vital skill as well. Business - It wouldn't do you much good to open up a gym, or a clinic and have it fail simply because you didn't know enough about business to keep it a running concern. Marketing - You need people to come to you for your knowledge. Or in other words, you need to market your abilities. So this too is a useful ability.
