    Unsought products

    Explanation:

Unsought product is defined as one that the consumer does not know about or does not usually think about buying. Purchase of these types of products is due to danger, the fear of danger, or lack of desire.

Examples of unsought products are funeral service, encyclopaedia, reference books, and fire extinguisher.

Since there is low demand for them there is need for more promotion and personal selling effort. Purchase is usually not done immediately and can be deferred.
