    Answer: $3800

    Given:

    Performance bonuses for 2011:

    bob $500 less than John

    john $1,300 more than nick

    nick $3,000

    Solution:

If John received $1300 more than Nick, and Nick received $3000, John's performance bonus is $3000+$1300 = $4300.

If Bob received $500 less than John, then Bob 's performance bonus is $4300-$500=$3800.
