What is the change in temperature if 24g of water at 50°C absorbs 985 J of heat energy?

    The formula is q=M*C * (Change in T)

    q = 985 J

    M = 24g

    C = 4.186 j/gram (it's waters specific heat)

    Change in T = X (unknown)

    Once you solve for X, you should get 9.8, at least that's what I got.

    So the change in temperature is 9.8 C.
