    To solve this task you should remember one basic rule : electrons will go into orbitals of equal energy unpaired. According to this rule, we can easily indicate the number of unpaired electrons : if we have 3 p orbitals, s2p5 has 1 unpaired e; if we have 5 d orbitals it would be 2 unpaired e. Just go this way, I am pretty sure it's clear.
