When a plant grows, its mass

increases over time. Does this mean

that new matter is created? Why or

why not?

    Correct, it's mass does increase over time. But, no new matter is not created. This is, because, nutrients and material the plant needs to grow IS matter. The plant is just converting it and using it to make new cells and grow.
