Nitrogen dioxide is a toxic, reddish-brown gas. what safety precautions are needed in this inquiry lab to protect against this hazard, as well as the hazards due to the use of concentrated acid?

    Nitrogen dioxide is a toxic gas and therefore it is important for a person handling the gas not to inhale these fumes. Also one needs to protect their eyes while working with the gas.

    Therefore following safety precautions should be taken to protect against the hazards of nitrogen dioxide

    1) One should wear safety goggles to prevent the fumes from entering into the eyes.

    2) Protective mask is needed to prevent the inhalation of the fumes.

    Concentrated acid can cause burns if it comes in contact with the skin. It may damage the cloths as well. often times concentrated acids emit toxic fumes. Therefore following safety precautions are needed while handling concentrated acid.

    1) One should wear safety gloves to prevent the acid from coming in contact with the skin

    2) One should wear protective masks to protect themselves from the fumes.

    3) One should also wear protective apron to prevent the damage to the cloths.
