Answer the following questions based on zinc.

1. What mass of copper would have a volume of 35.15 cm3?

2. What volume would 71.45g of copper shot occupy?

3. If 50.0 cm3 of one type of metal has a mass of 352 g, is this metal copper? Explain.

    1. Mass of copper

    The density of copper is 8.96 g/cm³.

    Mass = 35.15 cm³ * (8.96 g/1 cm³) = 315 g

    2. Volume of copper

    Volume = 71.45 g * (1 cm³/8.96 g) = 7.97 cm³

    3. Identification of metal

    Density = mass/volume = 352 g/50.0 cm³ = 7.04 gcm³

    The metal is not copper because its density is much% less than that of copper.
