    It can be defined as the angular distance measured in degrees east and west of the Greenwich Meridian. All the lines of longitude that runs from north to south are called Lines of Longitude.

    The Great Prime or Greenwich Meridian is at longitude of 0°. All other longitudes are called Meridians and are numbered in degrees East and West of longitude 0°.

    The maximum longitude reading both east and west of the Greenwich meridian is longitude 180°E and 180°W.
