    When acid precipitation is increasing the pH of uncontaminated rain is 5.6.

    pH is the measurement scale to check either the aqueous solution is acidic or basic. At pH 7, the solution is neutral. As the value of pH increases from 7, the solution becomes basic and if the value decreases the solution becomes more acidic.
