Based on results of his study of atomic x-ray spectra, Moseley discovered a relationship that replaced atomic mass as the criterion for ordering the elements. Answer:A) The new sequence used as discovered by moseley is the atomic number.

Example is H1, He2, Li3, Be4, B5, C6, N7, O8, F9, Ne10 which is in order of their atomic number or proton number which is written in front of the symbols of the first ten elements

Explanation:moseley using cathode Ray's which can be represented in symbol by an electron e^-to bombard different elements discovered that each successive elements emit an alpha particles of different frequencies from the center

He also discovered that square root of each frequency of alpha particle emitted by successive elements is in a regular step or is constantly increasing, he therefore arrives that present in the nucleus is a positive charged proton (since only a positive charged can repel an alpha particles) and that it also same as atomic number which governs the arrangements of elements in the periodic table

. using the first ten elements as an example hydrogen is helium is 2, lithium is 3, berrylium is 4, Boron Is 5, carbon is 6, nitrogen is 7, oxygen is 8, Flourine is 9, and Neon gas is 10 all in the order of their atomic or proton number.
