Fusion reaction is one of those reaction which require a lot of energy to trigger but once it is triggered it releases a vast amount of energy that can't be easily controlled. I mean this fusion reaction is the source of our sun. Using fusion reaction, it is surviving till date and we all know how much of energy sun releases.

Energy released during fusion is about one million times greater than energy released during Chemical reaction. We can do chemical reaction in our laboratory but not fusion.

However, some chemical reactions are violent and releases lot of energy but not to that level.
