    The answer to your question is T2 = 146.52 °K

    Explanation:

    Data

    Volume 1 = 2.85 L

    Temperature 1 = 15°C

    Temperature 2 = ?

    Volume 2 = 1.45 L

    Process

    1. - Use Charles' law to solve this problem

    V1/T1 = V2/T2

    2. - Convert temperature to °K

    T1 = 15 + 273 = 288°K

    T2 = ?

    3. - Substitution

    2.85/288 = 1.45/T2

    Solve for T2

    T2 = 1.45 (288) / 2.85

    Simplification

    T2 = 417.6/2.85

    Result

    T2 = 146.52 °K
