    An ion that has a negative charge; forms when valence electrons are added to the outer energy level, giving the ion a stable electron configuration. The force that holds the cation to the anion. The electrostatic force that holds oppositely charged particles together in an ionic compound. so it has to be false i think from what i am getting at this
