A solid with a density of 3.57g/mL and mass of 19.5g is added to a graduated cylinder that contain 23.2mL of water. What is the volume of the liquid once the solid is dropped in the cylinder?

    If the mass of the solid is 9.25 g, what is the density? ... Since you're working with milliliters, one unit of volume will be 1 mL ... You know that 5.0 mL have a mass of 9.25 g, so use this as a conversion factor to find. 1.0mL ⋅9.25 g5.0mL = 1.85 g
