    Explanation:

    So the fraction of Sulphur is 0.50 and the fraction of oxygen is 0.50.

    Dividing by the atomic masses of sulphur and oxygen:

    S =.50 / 32 = 0.015625

    O =.50 / 16 = 0.3125

    Ratio of S: O = 0.015625 / 0.015625 to 0.3125 / 0.015625

    = 1:2.
