Among the instruments, both multiple beam balance and digital scale are used for the measurement of a solid and can be highly precise or consistent. The multiple beam balance uses counterweights to determine the weight of the sample placed on a weighing pan. It is the least accurate way of measurement since the readings do not include a decimal place. On the other hand, the digital scale is highly accurate and more precise than the multiple beam balance because it shows digits which are significant. However, the last possible decimal may be uncertain since it is probably estimated.

A 100-mL graduated cylinder is more accurate and moderately precise than a 100-mL beaker since the cylinder has lines between every whole number which indicate the decimal while the beaker hasn’t.
