How do u separate salt from rock salt?

In order to separate salt from rock salt, first crush the salt rock into small pieces, put it in a container and add water. Stir until it dissolves. Pour the solution to a funnel lined with coffee filter. Heat the filtered water and the water will evaporate leaving salt behind.
