A sample of gas at 1.0 atm pressure has a volume of 20.0 L. If the

pressure is raised to 2.5 atm, what is the new volume? The

temperature is held constant.

    Boyles Law = > P₁V₁ = P₂V₂

    P₁ = 1.0 Atm

    V₁ = 20.0 L

    P₂ = 2.5 Atm

    V₂ = ?

    P₁V₁ = P₂V₂ = V₂ = V₁ (P₁/P₂) = 20.0L (1.0Atm/2.5Atm) = 8.00L
