    Answer: Specific enzymes can catalyze a wide variety of chemical reactions.

    Indeed enzymes are catalyst for the chemical reations that happen in the body (metabolic reactions) and every reaction needs a specific enzyme. Without them most of the metabolic reactions never happen.
