    This is single replacement reaction.

    As reactivity decreases down the group,

    Iodine is less reactive than Chlorine.

    And so Iodine cannot replace chlorine from FeCl2.

    I2 + FeCl2 - --> no reaction (Iodine is less reactive than chlorine)
