How many moles of oxygen atoms are contained in the following? (a) 2.41 mol KMnO4

    2.41 mol KMnO4 (4 mol O / 1 mol KMnO4) (6.022 x 10^23 atoms / mol) = 5.81 x 10^24 atoms O

    (b) 46.8 mol CO2

    46.8 mol CO2 (2 mol O / 1 mol CO2) (6.022 x 10^23 atoms / mol) = 5.64 x 10^25 atoms O

    (c) 1.10 x 10-2 mol CuSO4·5 H2O

    1.10 x 10-2 mol CuSO4·5 H2O (5 mol O / 1 mol CuSO4·5 H2O) (6.022 x 10^23 atoms / mol) = 3.31 x 10^22 atoms O
