Scientific notation is always expressed as a number between 1 and 10 not including 10 followed by 10 to a power.

    1 ≤ x < 10

7.6 * 10^2 is the correct answer. You used one of the powers to get to a number between 1 and 10

    0.76 * 10 = 7.6 That leaves you with 2 tens.

The decimal should be after the 7 and before the 6.
