The type of bond is determined based on if the bond is between an metal and a non-metal, or two non-metals. The metal-nm bond is ionic, and the two non-metal bond is covalent. Therefore:

    NaCl - ionic

    I2 - covalent

    HCl - covalent

    KF - ionic
