    S waves behave like a ripple

    Explanation; S waves also secondary waves together with primary waves are types of Seismic waves, which are vibrations that travel through Earth or along Earth's surface, carrying the kinetic energy released during an earthquake. S waves are slower than P waves, they travel through solids only and move the ground perpendicular to the direction in which the wave is moving. Additionally, S waves do not travel though liquids, and thus there cannot be huge reservoirs of liquid deep in the earth.
