A rock weighing 75.0 g is placed in a graduated cylinder displacing the volume from 31.4 ml to 36.5 ml. what is density of the rock in grams/cubic centimeter?

    Displaced volume:

    1 mL = 1 cm ³

    36.5 mL - 31.4 mL = 5.1 cm ³

    Therefore:

    Density = mass / volume

    Density = 75.0 / 5.1

    Density = 14.705 g/cm³
