A sample of gas occupies a volume of 445 mL at a temperature of 274 K. At what temperature will this sample of gas occupy a volume of 499 mL? Show all of the work used to solve this problem.

    The temperature that the sample of gas occupy a volume of 499ml is calculated using Charles law formula

    that is V1/T1 = V2/T2

    V1 = 445 ml

    T1 = 274 k

    V2 = 499 ml

    T2 = ?

    from equation above T2 = T1V2 / V1

    = 274 k x 499 ml/445ml = 307.25 k
