    I think the correct answer from the choices listed above is option D. The statement saying that the particles in a gas make up a small portion of the total volume of the gas is not true for a gas which follows kinetic molecular theory. In this theory, one assumption is that particles are much smaller than the distance between particles so most of the volume of a gas is therefore empty space.
