Determine the minimum number of theoretical plates, N, required to achieve baseline separation with a resolution that is desirable for quantitative analysis of two compounds with an adjusted relative retention, α, of 1.051 and retention factors of 5.02 and 5.28. N = plates In an attempt to increase the resolution of the separation, a researcher decreased the column length. Will decreasing the column length increase the resolution of the separation?
