The two major motions of Earth as it travels through space is rotation and revolution.

    Explanation:

Earth is splitted geometrically as imaginary horizontal and vertical lines termed as longitudes and latitudes, respectively. And there is an imaginary line passing through the centre of Earth which is termed as central axis or centre of mass of the Earth. So the Earth spins about its central axis and this phenomenon is termed as rotation. It is due to this motion, that there is change in day and night observed by us.

The other major motion is revolution. In this motion, the Earth travels the space around the Sun in a discrete orbit. And while travelling the orbit around the Sun, the rotation of the Earth will be continued. So this kind of motion like circling around the Sun in a discrete orbit and rotating at the same time is termed as revolution. Thus, the two major motions of Earth as it travels through space is rotation and revolution.
