A new element is discovered that is very unstable and highly reactive, and it likes to lose its one valence electron. in what group should this element be placed in? explain.

    In order to achieve the Octet rule and stability, the atom will lose or gain electron so that only eight electrons will be in the shell. These elements are placed in the group 1 or A of the periodic table. The group is comprised of the hydrogen and the alkali metals.
