    Given:

Total moles of the gas mixture = 1.75

Moles of Nitrogen gas in the mixture = 0.75

    To determine:

    Moles fraction of nitrogen

    Explanation:

Mole fraction of a particular element in a mixture is given by the ratio of the number of moles of that element by the total number of moles

    In this case-

Moles fraction of N2 = moles of N2/total number of moles

    = 0.75/1.75 = 0.429

Ans: Mole fraction of N2 in the gas mixture is 0.429 (or) 0.43.
