    Textile : It is the cloth, material, fiber, yarn produced by weaving, knitting or felting.

    Textile : The word textile originate from the latin verb "texere "meaning - to weave but now it is defined as : "a general term applied to any manufacture fro the fibers, filaments and yarns characterized by flexibility and high ratio of length to thickness."

    Nowaday textile has wide applications from papers to space shuttles

    Sources of textile : The four main sources of textile are : animals (silk, wool), plant (cotton, jute, bamboo), mineral (asbestos), Synthetic (Nylon, rayon)

    Textile finishing : A finish treatment is given to the fabric to change its appearance and performance. There are several ways of textile finishing:

    Basic finishing, functional finishing, chemical and mechanical finishes

    Why is it necessary to apply on fabric?
