Mass percentage (w/w%) can be calculated using the following equation

mass percentage = mass of solute / mass of solution x 100 %

solute is HCl and solvent is water.

mass of solute is 22.0 g of HCl added

mass of solution is the mass of solvent + mass of solute

    90.0 g of water and 22.0 g of HCl altogether make up - 90.0 + 22.0 = 112.0 g of solution

    therefore mass percentage of solution = 22.0 g / 112.0 g x 100 % = 19.6 %

    answer is 19.6%
