Stellar equilibrium or also known as hydrostatic equilibrium is the balance between the pressure inside the star and the force of gravity. The first element which is pressure refers to the thermal pressure resulting from the fusion reactions taking place in the star's core. This would result to very high temperature and pressure. Thus, because of such intensity, it would have the tendency to push outwards. Then the function of gravity comes by keeping the gases at bay by pulling it inwards so that the stars would remain in equilibrium.
