H3PO4, which contains three hydrogen atoms per molecule, is a weak acid, whereas HCL, which contains only one hydrogen atom per molecule, is a strong acid. Explain why?

    The definition of strong acid or weak acid depends on the ionization ability in water. If one acid can ionization completely in water, it is strong acid. If it ionization incompletely, it is weak acid. It is independent of the Hydrogen number.
