A beaker contains 100.0 mL of a 0.100 M solution of sulfuric acid. When 100.0 mL water is added to this solution, what is the concentration of the diluted sulfuric acid?

    Explanation:

    For the concentrated sulphuric acid,

    Number of moles = molar concentration * volume

    = 0.1 * 0.1

    = 0.01 mol

    New volume = 100 + 100 ml

    = 200 ml

    Concentration of the diluted sulphuric acid = number of moles/volume

    = 0.01/0.200

    = 0.05 M
