Ethanol is one example of alternative fuels for powering our cars and trucks. Ethanol can be produced in different ways, but most often by microorganisms acting on plant materials such as corn. Advocates argue that burning ethanol would not alter the net emission of CO2 even though when ethanol is involved in combustion it produces CO2. What are the pros and cons of producing and burning ethanol

    Cons

    1) Price fluctuations becauset

    The volume of Ethanol production is season dependent

    2) has lower mileage

    3) corrosive effect because ethanol can absorb water

    Explanation:

    The amount of green house gas produced in burning Ethanol is minimal compared to that produced in burning gasoline.

    Also the corrosive effect on metallic part of vehicle since most likely since ethanol is water friendly
